Molfetta — Public Works Project Register, 2024–2026
Public Works Overview
Molfetta’s 2024–2026 public-works programme points to investment in schools, port and maritime infrastructure, roads, municipal and heritage buildings, parks, the waterfront and sports facilities. It lists 27 planned interventions with a combined programmed value of €84,895,255.52.
The programme was approved and published by the Comune di Molfetta on 8–9 November 2023.[1] This page provides a readable overview of the published material; some later tables are not included, so the totals and comparisons describe the information currently available here.
A place in the programme means planned, not necessarily funded, tendered, contracted, started or completed. Funding and delivery status remain Not verified until supported by project-specific administrative evidence.

Some projects touch more than one policy area; each is assigned a single primary theme for the summary table.
What the Programme Emphasizes
Schools
Twelve planned interventions concern named school buildings or school facilities, including San Giovanni Bosco, Capitini, Agazzi, De Amicis, Filippetto, J. Piaget, San Pio, A. Manzoni, Don Cosmo Azzollini, San Domenico Savio, Pascoli and Giaquinto. The investment pattern is not a single new-school programme: it is primarily a portfolio of safety, rehabilitation and functional improvement projects.
This makes the programme useful for Schools and Education, but no individual school should be described as renovated or funded solely because it appears here.
Port and Maritime Infrastructure
The programme includes shipyard-building adaptation at Spiaggia Maddalena, a connection between the SS16 bis and the new commercial port, and port dredging/sediment management. Together, the port-related entries represent a major share of the current programme.
These entries connect the working-port interpretation in Port, Economy, and Mobility with concrete programme identifiers and cost estimates. Delivery still requires separate verification through design approvals, funding acts, tenders and works records.
Roads, Interchanges, and Cycling
Mobility projects include the Via Vecchia Bitonto/Ponte Schivazappa cycle-pedestrian safety intervention, an interchange station and cycle-network parking connection, the new-port road link, and a multi-intersection urban roundabout programme. The roundabout description is incomplete in the published material, so it should not be treated as a full list of intersections until the official documents confirm the details.
Public Space, Heritage, and Civic Assets
The register also captures Parco di Ponente, Piazza 1º Maggio, Palazzo Tattoli, the area behind the Duomo, Pala Fiorentini, a municipal building in Via Carnicella, cemetery expansion and the levante waterfront. These projects allow public-works research to connect infrastructure programming with heritage, neighbourhood life, sports and coastal change.
Reading the Programme
The Comune’s published programme remains the authoritative source for project names and amounts. Some priority fields are absent from the available tables; a blank in this guide means that no value is reported here, not that the project has no priority.
How to Follow Delivery
Public works move through several stages. A project can be planned without being funded or built, so follow both its funding and its delivery:
| Field | Allowed interpretation |
|---|---|
| Funding status | Not verified, funding identified, funded, partially funded, or no longer funded. |
| Delivery status | Not verified, design, tendered, awarded, under construction, completed, suspended, or removed/superseded. |
A status change should be supported by a project-specific municipal act and, where available, the official CUI, CUP or project title. Press coverage can help locate evidence but should not replace funding, contracting or completion records.
